Big Bash League :Tim Paine, Ben Dunk murders Heat's solid attack to chase 209 in 19 overs

Ben Dunk and Tim Paine helped Hobart Hurricanes to there 2nd win of the big bash league by destroying Brisbane Heat’s attack of Vettori,Christian,Hopes and Flintoff by chasing a steep target of 209 runs in 19 overs.

Match Report: Hobart Hurricanes v Brisbane Heat ; Bellerive,Hobart, 2 January 2015

After  Hurricanes won the toss and invited Heat to bat first Brisbane posted 208 runs on the back of the brilliant century stand between Pierson and Forrest  making  119 in 12 overs before Pierson was  bowled by Sammy  after making 57 of 35 balls and his opening partner soon joined himafter he was caught of the bowling of debutant  Jake Reed ,

After  that Christian and Lynn put up a 44 run partnership Daniel Christian bludgeoned 34 of just 9 balls with 4 sixes and 2 fours and was stumped of Boyce  after going for a big shot , Lynn made 27 of 21 balls to take the score to 182 in 18 overs and in the end Ben Cutting took the score to 208 with 3 massive sixes at the end,

Hobart started of there chase with a aggressive intent  from the get go as they took 14 runs from the 1st over of Daniel Vettori , there opening pair of Dunk and Paine scored 74 runs  in the power play, Ben Dunk reached  his fifty of 26 balls which included 6 fours and 2 sixes and Paine reached his fifty of  24 balls with a six and was caught at point by Vettori  soon after of the bowling Floros , opening partnership of Dunk and Paine made 120 runs in 9 overs,

Both openers were dismissed within four overs but Hales kept the score ticking over with his 34 off 23 balls.

Hurricanes needed 30 off 17 when Hales was dismissed but Bailey provided boost at the end, smacking three fours and a six in his 12-ball 28 to take his side to victory with an over to spare.

Daniel Vettori went for 46 in his 4 overs  and the rest Heat's bowlersexcept of James Hopes and Floros went for more than 10 runs and over,

Hobart's Debutant bowler Reed went for 41 in his 4 overs and took 1 wicket of Peter Forrest while the rest of the bowler went for plenty of run,

Tim Paine was adjudged man of the match for his 55 of 25 balls.

 

 

Scorecard:

Hobart Hurricanes 4 for 209 (Dunk 67, Paine 55) beat Brisbane Heat 6 for 208 (Forrest 62, Peirson 57) by six wickets.
