Match Report:
Finally, after a dry spell Barcelona fans have at last found a match they can celebrate. A hatrick by Lionel Messi who now holds the record for most goals scored in La Liga contributed to the 5-1 score Barcelona can be proud of. It seems like their shaken morale and botched chemistry has finally faded for a match and earned them some amount of redemption.
The first half of the match was as uneventful as the second was exciting. Barcelona were in the lead with 1 goal to vouch for them and scrape them through. In the second half, Barcelona was on FIRE. Goal after goal found its way into the net and Beto might as well not have been in front of the goal at all tonight. Bravo, however, was once again denied the chance for a clean sheet; this time by one of his own. Alba scored a goal, but probably forgot which way he was supposed to send it. This earned the only goal for Sevilla this evening.
The highlight of the match was of course, Messi’s record breaking goal and the ones that succeeded it. Then of course, there was the infamous own goal by Alba and the overall score of 5-1 which brings back some amount of hope for the lately disheartened Barcelona fans.
However, it is still a point to wonder whether Barcelona are truly back in form or was this match just a stroke a luck for the Catalans? The team has been travelling up and down the table after it was bumped down from first position by arch rivals Real Madrid. The MSN formation has yet yielded little to no magic and it is hard to say whether the team are back to their former glory or if they are still a long way from it. After all, it was Sevilla they were up against, if you know what I mean.
Man of the Match:
This does not even need to be written down, we all know who it is. A certain Argentinean who scored a hatrick, broke a record and won the hearts of his faithful fans.
