Match Report:
Once again, Real Madrid takes the lead and reclaims their place at the top of the league table. In a happening, yet predictable game tonight the men in white played with full control and in their signature ruthless manner. Gareth Bale was back and this was asserted by the goal he sent home in the first 8 minutes of the game. The Welsh man did not hesitate in trying for some more but the Rayo keeper denied him a few excellent opportunities.
Rayo put up a good fight and even managed to get the ball past Keylor Navas twice, who seemed to be a little out of his element today, the second of which was declared offside. He made a few goalkeeping errors which thankfully for the Spanish Giants did not end up in the net. A similar blunder was made by James Rodriguez who accidentally passed the ball to the opposing team instead of passing it to Keylor Navas who then tripped over Pepe and left the goal open. This was the only goal Rayo Vallecano was able to score for the night.
There were a few controversial moments in the match tonight, Fatau was not booked for a tackle in which he failed to connect with the ball and pulled Ronaldo down to the ground with his feet. Ba clattered into Bale but the referee did not bat an eye. On the other hand, the Rayo keeper seemed to be prepared to face the Madrid attack tonight making some spectacular saves out of which Gareth Bale’s screamer can be singled out. The Welsh player sent a raging ball into the net which was spontaneously saved by the Rayo savior.
Kroos shot an amazing debut goal for Real Madrid which was immediately followed by Benzema’s controversial kick into the net. The goal was offside but it wasn’t given as one which made the Real Madrid goal total amount to 4. After that, Ronaldo who had been having a bit of a dry streak the past few matches, finally hit the ball home and made it 5-1 for Real Madrid.
